The Bionic Ear Institute offers the gift of hearing to deaf children and adults. We carry out research to make the Bionic Ear just as good as normal hearing and to find new and improved ways to help people with a hearing loss to communicate effectively with the hearing world. We are also using our knowledge and expertise to stimulate other areas of the brain and central nervous system. This could lead for example to a device to assist with spinal cord repair.

Research is expensive and as an independent non-profit organisation, funding is a constant challenge.
