The Cooperative Research Centre for Cochlear Implant and Hearing Aid
Innovation (CRC HEAR) is an unincorporated joint venture, comprised
of four core and 13 supporting parties, operating under a formal Centre
Agreement and an Agreement with the Commonwealth. CRC HEAR is governed
by a Board appointed under the Centre Agreement.

Under the Chairmanship of Mr Robin Reid, the Governing Board
sets the Centre’s strategic goals, oversees research and education
activities, and technology transfer though the operations of HearWorks
Pty Ltd, the commercial arm of CRC HEAR.
Each Core Party is represented on the Governing Board. Support Parties
are mutually represented by a single member, elected annually. The Board
benefits from the involvement of a Consumer Advocate invited annually,
who acts on behalf of hearing-impaired users of technology.
HearWorks Pty Ltd
HearWorks Pty Limited is the CRC HEAR’s commercial agent, operating
under a Management and Trust Deed. HearWorks is a proprietary company
limited by shares. Its mission is to commercialise intellectual property
and technology arising from CRC HEAR research. HearWorks is the owner
of all intellectual property developed by CRC HEAR.
