Research

Research Objectives

Centre research is aimed at:

  • innovations that enable new hearing technology products
  • innovative clinical procedures that enhance benefits for users of hearing devices and the professional clinicians who work with them, and where appropriate
  • utilising this knowledge to assist with solutions to other technological problems applicable to the wider communications area

Research Volunteers

CRC HEAR thanks and acknowledges its cochlear implant and hearing aid volunteers who donate their time to assist the Centre with the conduct of research. Their participation is vital, providing crucial information about coding of sound, processes at the electrode neural interface, and how to optimise fitting and rehabilitation strategies.

CRC HEAR's SPEAR3 research platform enables important studies of use of
two cochlear implants and advanced coding strategies
