After completing my undergraduate degree, majoring in neurophysiology
and electrical and computer systems engineering (biomedical engineering),
I have decided to continue my academic ways and begin a PhD at the Bionic
Ear Institute and The University of Melbourne.
My academic interests include the modelling of biological phenomenon,
which begun with an introduction to the profound and insightful Hodgkin
and Huxley equations. From there, my studies extended to the use of
engineering principles in medicine, particularly medical instrumentation,
and to software engineering. I have undertaken a PhD project that will
hopefully utilise neurobiological principles to improve an engineering
problem of robust speech perception with concurrent speakers and also
help to understand the neural circuits involved in the early processing
of speech in the auditory pathway.
My other interests include playing hockey and going to the movies.
I have been playing hockey since I was five and I am currently playing
State League 1 with Melbourne University Hockey Club.
