I joined the Bionic Ear Institute as a UROP student in 2005, developing analysis techniques for intracochlear electrode impedance recordings. I undertook a number of undergraduate projects within the institute, culminating in the development of a novel research cochlear implant for small laboratory animals, for which I was awarded "Best Final Year Project" by the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Having completed my undergraduate studies, majoring in electrical (biomedical) engineering and behavioural neuroscience, I am now continuing as a PhD candidate within the Auditory Neurobiology Research Group. I'm studying central auditory plasticity associated with cochlear implant experience, using a combination of behavioural and electrophysiological techniques.
